Inaugural Culture for the Planet Summit Summary Report (8–10 Oct 2025, Lausanne)

Held from 8 to 10 October 2025 in Lausanne, Switzerland, the Inaugural Culture for the Planet Summit marked the launch of the Culture for the Planet Alliance — a global community of practice uniting arts and cultural organisations, researchers, and policymakers to accelerate the sustainability transition in the arts and culture sector. 
 
Over three days, participants explored how arts and culture can act as a catalyst for systemic change, engaging in workshops, masterclasses, and discussions across Lausanne’s leading cultural venues. The Inaugural Summit culminated in the Declaration of Lausanne, officially founding the Alliance and affirming the arts and culture sector’s role in shaping a sustainable future. 
 
This report captures the insights, methodologies, and collective commitments that emerged, laying the foundation for a long-term movement placing arts and culture at the heart of the global sustainable transition: one that redefines sustainability through knowledge and collective action.
